The Harnkegger Games Award Ceremony

SUNDAY 17th of SEPTEMBER: Harnkegger Games Award Ceremony

On the last day of Harnkegger Games on Sunday 17th of September the winners of the Harnkegger Games will be announced, at the Harnkegger Games Award Ceremony. ((expected to start between 3:25 and 3:45PM - right after Music Event Final))

There the Fair-Play Hero will be announced, winning no less than 100 in game gold, 2000 Lotro Points and a Sturdy Steel Key!

Lastly, the Harnkegger Champion, selected by a group of judges from all the gold medal winners of the events in the past seven days, will receive the title “Harnkegger” ((RP title, not actual in game title)) in addition to 250 gold pieces and 3500 (7 x 500) Lotro Points codes and another 3 Sturdy Steel Keys!

The Harkegger of the Games is, as ever, a gold medal winner who has throughout the games embodied the ideals of the Games; Merriment, Brotherhood, Fair-Play and Honour. An example to other competitors, NOT necessarily the one with the highest gold medal count.

THE HARNKEGGER CLOSING CONCERT

Right after the Harnkegger Games Award Ceremony the winner of this year's MUSIC EVENT FINAL has the honour to play a closing set of 30 minutes, as this year's Harnkegger Closing Concert.

Warning System and Bans

Any breach of the guidelines of good behavior or general misconduct of any kind from any contestant or supporter of the games will be disciplined by the hosts, judges or steward in the form of a official warning via IM.

The warning is in effect immediately and for the entire length of the Harnkegger Games, and is entirely at the discretion of the judges, steward and hosts. A warning does not prevent one from entering an event on that day (provided he/she is not given a ban).

If the contestant or supporter of the games that has already received an official warning and breaches the guidelines of good behavior or engages in misconduct again (during the same day or one of the following days) an immediate and irrevocable ban will follow, for the specific event AND for the remainder of the entire Harnkegger Games.

Any contestant caught cheating will receive an immediate ban from the event and entire Harnkegger Games, including any future Harnkegger Games.

Any players taking part in the Harnkegger Games as competitors automatically accept to follow, respect and adhere to the guidelines of good behavior. Any potential competitor or supporter that does not agree to any of the above mentioned guidelines in any way is asked not to be present for the Harnkegger Games, neither as supporter or contestant.

ADDITIONAL RULES & NOTES:

NO HORSE RACES IN HARNKEGGER VI

Sadly, at Harnkegger V the HGC detected a bug that increased the speed of mounts of players that bough the Apprentice Riding Trait or Journeyman Riding Trait EVEN when they had the "Smell the Roses"-skill active (that is meant to supress these riding buffs). This bug was reported at the time to the game developers, sadly the bug could not be fixed on time by the good folks at Standing Stone Games. As such, to ensure no one is given an unfair advantage during these events no horse races will be held in this year's Harnkegger Games.

NO EVENT SELECTION BY COMPETITORS

Unlike last year's Harnkegger Games, the HGC has decided to select the events for this year themselves. Apart from cutting down on the admin time to manage such a large public vote effectively, the fact that there are less events too chose from (due to the exclusion of Horse Races - see above) no longer makes such a vote interesting for the public nor of use for the HGC.

NOTES ON PRIZES:
(*4) = The tournament best is selected from the gold medal winners of each category of the sparring tournament

(*5) = In total more Lotro points may be handed out, depending on donations received to the HGC.

(*11) = Gold medal winners may exchange their 500 Lotro Point code for a Steed of the First Marshall code if they would wish to do so.

NOTE ON TIME ZONES / TIMES OF EVENTS:
All times mentioned in this post are on SERVER TIME of the LAURELIN Server (which is Boston Time) - Meaning that 3PM ST, would equal 8PM UK Time and 9PM Central European Time.

FURTHER NOTES:

(*6) = The race of "ELF" includes both High Elf and Elf classes.

(*7) = Inspiration for this feast in the Blue Mountains can be found in lore: “It came to pass that at the midsummer the Dwarves, as was their custom, bade Eöl to a feast in Nogrod…” [The Silmarillion, Quenta Silmarillion, Ch 16, Of Maeglin]. This year again we’ve changed the timing (making it the end of summer instead of midsummer due to various reasons).

(*8 ) = The name “Harnkegger” is the name given originally by non-dwarves to both “Deep Ale Fest” and the winner of the games. The name finds its origin in the words “Harn” (brains) and “Kegger” (“brewer / he who fills the kegs with ale”), and is a reference to both the smarts required to win in these games, as to the drinking of enormous amounts of ale between festival days.

(*9 ) = Beornings will also be counted as members of the race of "MEN".

(*10) = Any Stewards, Hosts and Judges that assisted in one or more events will NOT be eligible for the Harnkegger Champion or Fair Play Hero title.

(*12) = Registration for the Music Event Semi Final will be open from AUGUST 25th till SEPTEMBER 4th. ONLY ONLINE via links on http://harnkeggergames.simplesite.com/419416941 --- In the event the turn out for an event is higher than the Maximum Competitor Number (MCN) of 12 listed in the event details, the host will use the registration list to roll call the competitors, in order of registration. Any competitor that has registered and is present will greatly increase their chances of competing. If however more people register (AND are also present for the event) than the MCN listed then the first people that registered will get priority over those that registered later. This means that a registration does NOT guarantee you a spot in an event, yet those that register in a timely manner will have a much greater chance to compete. In the event less people register than the limit the host will ask the potential competitors that have showed up to IM him/her, and will register people at a first come, first serve bases (quickest IM first).

* The HGC reserves the right to cancel events in the unlikely event a minimum number of competitors is not reached. Minimum numbers are depending on the event in question and are at the discretion of the Harnkegger organizing committee. In such an eventuality the foreseen prizes (gold and Lotro Points) are distributed among other events or added to the main Harnkegger prize and Hero of the Harnkegger Nation prize.

* The HGC cannot fully take into account the positive or negative impact of lag, technical issues, performance issues, bugs, crashes, server performance or glitches of any kind on the individual performance of the competitors. As such no do-over, compensation or additional attempts will be granted to competitors that may have been put at a disadvantage due to such unpredictable occurrences. In the event of a game/server wide crash the HGC may decide to start the event again, entirely at the discretion of the event host.

* It is the aim of the Harnkegger Games Committee to hand out ALL Lotro Points codes and gold directly to the winners within a period of 24 hours via in game letter. In case a prize winner would not be online during the following weeks and the prize returned to the Harnkegger Games Committee, the prize will be stored for a period of a month, so the prize winner can claim their prize. If after this period the prize would not have been claimed, the prize will be placed in a pool for future events and the prize winner will lose its claim to the prize.
